I did not know about this show. I looked it up and it is free tickets when you register to attend. I register just in case I have time to stop by.

Yes I am calling it the T-Rex !

The top section is custom as it has a special pad on the bottom and a special connection arrangement on the back.

Sort of a super D’Appolito array.

Hi Shawn

No the advantage of the Bryston BAX-1 Active Electronic Crossover for the Model T is such that I did not have to change any settings for the stacked system.

Wow, impressive!!!!! Since I'm losing my filters I'll be the one to ask: Does this have anything to do with legalization?

I see a good inch or two of additional clearance before you hit the ceiling. Surely you could’ve utilized that, James. A super tweeter, perhaps? Why stop there?

Yes it starts to approximate a line source when you get close to the floor/ceiling distance.

Ah, stacked or double Advents! I wonder what my old system would sound like if I could compare it to what I have today.

Too bad, there isn't some sort of "time machine" that would allow us to compare the various iterations of our systems as they evolved over time. Hopefully, the improvements in technology and our audio budgets result in a vastly superior sound!

Mr. Tanner, what's the rest of the system components? Are you still using the 3 channel Bryston amps and one for each stack?

System consists of:

Bryston BDP-3 Digital Player/Streamer
BDA-3 DAC
BP26/MPS2 Preamplifier
BAX-1 Digital Crossover
Two 21B three-channel amplifiers
Bryston 20 Amp BIT Isolation Transformer
Target Component Stands
Bryston Cables
And of course the new Bryston T-Rex Active Speaker System.

Ah yes - you take me back - I also owned the stacked Advents

We did not know it then but there are a lot of advantages to this kind of speaker array.

1. First you are moving a lot of air at very low distortion which results in real world dynamics.
2. Because you have woofers at both the top and bottom of the speaker array you are loading the bass frequencies into the room at 4 different pressure points. This really works well at smoothing the bass response throughout the listening room.
3. With a multi-driver array like this the ability to fill the room with sound is effortless and you can walk very close to the speaker or move far away and you will notice very little difference in sound pressure level.
4. Folks the speakers literally disappear and you just have this huge wall of sound (with good imaging and depth) in front of you.
