In a previous thread http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=143012.0 I was mentioning that I was building a speaker stand for that particular project and I had shown some Images as well. Since I have changed my mind addressing the DIY Multi Purpose Heavy Duty Speaker Stands, but after seen a few very-very nice creative sets on here and other forums I think my description to my own idea was wrong in that thread as these which I saw were all really Speaker Stands yet to my own thinking, and what I was really looking for should have been in its description called - DIY Multi Purpose Heavy Duty Speaker Display Platform - so not so much Speaker Stands simple because my own idea was pointing more towards a Multi Purpose & Heavy Duty set up allowing me to, and as said in that thread as well for the use within different applications.

Anyway, I think the attached Images will start to clarify that point quiet well.

So for me personally it will be from now on that I address these as Speaker Display Platforms rather then Speaker Stands as truly I think that would be a so much better & by far more precise & detailed description once you can see the completed project and its uses.

I missed your first thread, I really am impressed with the execution of your idea thus far. There is something very solid and old school about it, with imagination.

Hi there,
Thank you very much!
All Ducks in a row so to say - you just missed one halve way down .... 'I.S.C.T The Musical Box project ....' and the first one I think which is now first on the second page .... The question on a dual interactive 'SEALED & VENTED' enclosure ...., and YES that is all what I use Imagination, Crafting with Ordinary / Standard Tools & a lot of elbow grease, but with it you do have to have a certain amount of Vision & be able to visualize your project or projects.

Mr. UpperCut,
it's difficult for me to have a clear picture in my head of what
the finish product will look like ? ? ? ?
Sooooo, I have to be patient (Not too anxious) and wait...

Hi there,

Thank for the reply!

In today's world everything is visual, and by far to often presented as a finish product! mostly electronics, measure shown first (same old - same old) - yet with any of my own projects I know because I'm the builder and you as a visitor can be maybe interested or not, but in any case if it is of interest to you then I have adchieved my goal because you have tried to figure it out - see / visulize it yourself, and that is all what I had in mind. I strongly believe that DIY development should be more then just looking at finish products & lines in a graph.

Hi there again,

First fitting today and final measuring up to cover the main mild steel guide tube with charcoal Vinyl covering just like the distance pieces between the main inner supports!

Hi there,

And thank you very much both for your replies!

Now, you are both of course right YET if you look at this thread http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=143012.0 then you will find that is not quiet the overkill you imagine because it is a large enclosure and only one so it needs to be solid.

I build this unit first with this project box in mind as well as it can be used making up plates so a Subwoofer can rest on, and with that heavy, solid units. Maybe now this change from stand to display would be easier to follow!

That explains it. That's one monster enclosure. You need some serious support for that cab. How much will the finished sub weigh?

I totally have to guess at the moment as I have still a lot of work in that, but I would say in the high 30 Kg to low 40 maybe. Thinking about the last small sub I build was 23.5 Kg http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=143706.0 and the new type 3 way would have been around 90 Kg at least http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=142347.0 .......... you see I like it heavy as it truly makes a difference!
