This one is great. Liszt B.A.C.H. will shake the place.

Since I have it, I second this CD.  Many speakers I auditioned have quivered when I took the CD out of its case.  Some actually ran away.

Gothic G49240 "The Wannamaker Legacy" is a recording made using a simple pair of omnidirectional mics with superb LF extension. The playing is superb, and everyone should have a copy.
Chandos 9716 "Bombarde" French classics played on the mighty Liverpool Cathedral organ by Ian Tracey is also recorded in a similar manner.
Both recordings are steeped in 32' action, as are  Guillou's Dorian recordings at St.Eustache. ( There's a complete works of Cesar Franck and an improvisation disc in that series too)

Old thread revived.  :thumb:

Isn't "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor" the one that goes down to 6Hz?

Yes it is. Few church organs go to 16-20Hz.
6Hz is a tipo.

J.S. Bach: Passacaglia and Fugue in C minor.
That, should exercise your system. In fact, you should be careful.

Festival of French organ music

E.Power Biggs

Famous recording (amongst organists) on Columbia of the most famous bigg French pieces by the most famous organist.
Recorded at St. Georges church in nyc.

The 32ft. Pedal on the Alain "Litanies " is incredible.
