My head unit from the 80’s as part of a Nak / Soundstream / Alpine system.  Yep I still have it from my college days.

OK, this one predates me, but not my childhood because dad passed it on to me...

This, and a matching fish-shaped one, hanging on the kitchen wall.

Tacky enough as decoration, but when put to use, the results were invariably revolting. Fortunately, mom only tried this on us a couple times...

There are few things I prefer today over things in my youth in the '60s and '70s. It's not rose-colored glasses or selective nostalgia either.

Speak for yourself or better yet don't speak at all if you can't add positivity to a simple fun thread. Why do some always feel the need to shit on things...

Whoa, hang on there! I was making a joke specifically about the tuna jello salad! My mom made something similar from one of those molds exactly once and the whole family hated it. I thought I was being funny and that people would get it, as many on Audiocircle have a pretty good sense of humor.  I grew up in the 60s and 70s and like most of us genuinely believe life was happier in those days. If my humor wasn’t obvious I apologize, but your reaction seems a bit intense for a fun thread.

Clearly I've been influenced and conditioned by the rising trend of confrontational threads. Knee-jerk response to what I perceived as crapping on a just-for-fun thread. My apologies. And yes, jello "salads" and "savories" are best left in the past...

Cheers,
Robert

No need to apologize Robert, but thanks for seeing that I was just being a smart *ss  8) These are stressful times and this kind of thread is good medicine!

I didn't get the reference either. I too almost commented.

If you had qouted the Jello mould post, it would have been obvious. It's hard to tell tone on the internet.

Before about 1960, home delivery of milk (and of bread) was common. Each truck would come by the house, 2 or 3 times a week.
Yesterday, I saw on the TV news , the a milk is going to restart milk deliveries.

Speaking of Bosom Buddies, gotta give it up for Wendy Jo Sperber: the queen of the 80s side characters. She was in everything.

Melissa McCarthy, you owe your career to her. She made fat chicks funny and lovable.
