LS 100 Main Output(s) Question
« on: 11 Mar 2018, 11:10 pm »
I'm changing things around again and experimenting (as usual) and realized I have a (possible) solution to 1 issue, but I don't know about the RCA vs XLR Main outputs (I know that they are not a true Balanced output) of the LS 100.

Are they both active at the same time/all the time? Does one supercede the other? Is there any difference in output volume?

I ask because I am currently using a splitter on the RCA outs (1 to main amp(s) and the other to a servo sub amp). I recently moved the Equipment to one side of the room rather than between the speakers. This has led to a longer run of cables. I was trying to figure out if I could use 1 pair of RCA's to the Subs and a pair of XLR's to the Amps and eliminate the splitters.

I'm pretty sure that the XLR's are paralleled off of the RCA's.  Output should be the same.  IIRC, when Dan first showed the idea for the LS100 to the forum to get input, enough people wanted XLRs, so he added them.
