My old new sub-woofer!

I had this old Velodyne ULD-18 cabinet in storage and I brought it back to life! I added 4 internal braces, spayed auto undercoating on the inside, added some foam to the sides along with the insulation that was in the cabinet, added new Dayton Audio BPA-38G binding post, 10 gauge wire and a Dayton Audio HO-18” driver powered by a Dayton Audio SA-1000 amp.
The cabinet is 6.3 interior cubic feet sealed and it sounds bleeping great! I hear low notes and tones I have never heard before, even at very low volume! The amp has a nice parametric EQ that you can fine tune, a very nice feature I did not have with my previous sub amp.
I am very happy with this sub-woofer set up, and it looks pretty good too!

Btw, this could easily be built for under $1000!

Nice! Here is a dead Legacy sub I bought for $20 on CL and re-soldered the tinsel leads to both drivers. Bought a plate 330 watt plate amp off CL for $30 and re-did the cabinet with homemade walnut veneer. Sealed twin 12 inch Sub. So tight and deep!
Started like this

Hand sawn veneer

Driver (balls)

Filled the hole where remote sensor was

Glued veneer on

Cut hole

Painted Black lacquer

Drivers installed front

Back

Paint,sandpaper and all about $80
