Dayton P220-8 vs Tang Band W8-1808

Hi Erling AND EVERY BODY, YOUR VIEWS AND INPUT PLEASE!!!!!!
I would like your thoughts on an idea I am playing with..... I am thinking of using an 8'' full range (Dayton PS220-8 or Tang Band W8-1808) on an open baffle with a 12'' woofer in a sealed enclosure behind the baffle(the sealed enclosure will be a down firing design) I like the smoother freq response curve and reviews (especially when used in this type of design) of the Tang Bang. If one look at the price comparison between the two the TB is almost double the cost of the  Dayton.

For a woofer I am not sure yet, but the SB ACOUSTICS 12'' SB34NRX75-6 is a strong contender. I can also look at 15'' woofers.

What I want to know is: with the notch filter you mentioned in this post, is the improvements you obtained on the Dayton worth the saving I could have on the TB,s? ( $210.00 vs $128.00 @ Parts Express)I know you probably did not listen to the TB's but just looking at the spec sheet could one make a decision?

The amplification will be handled by a 25 watt valve amp I am busy constructing now. I am looking forward in hearing from you soon. Kind regards and have a wonderful day!!!
