TVC - RCA Vs XLR input voltages
« on: 26 Sep 2013, 08:27 pm »
Hello,
I have a question regarding TVCs.
Assume that a CDP outputs 2.2V through RCA or 4.4V through XLR.
If I connect this CDP to a TVC through RCA, lets say I am at volume position 12 (of say 24 positions) for achieving my comfortable listening levels. Does it mean that when the CDP through XLR, will I be at a much lower volume position to achieve the same listening level, since the TVC now sees 4.4V Vs 2.2V? Does the TVC really see 4.4V or is the 2.2V "per leg" of the XLR connection makes the TVC see only 2.2V? Can someone please throw some light?

Thanks!
