Do I need mono extremes?
« on: 2 Feb 2003, 05:39 am »
Hi all:
My Stratos  should be in Kluas's hands by now and I have the painfull and time relevent desision on whether to go with the dual mono, (fits my current set-up much better space wise), or the new extremes, (can do , but will need some component shuffling). I know that if I want the best, now is the time to do it, but still wondering if I really need the extra oomph. Considering my current rig with the easy to drive speaks, is it going to be worth the extra $$$? Will I really use all of that head room? Anyway, I'd appriciate some comments from the members in order to help me make my decision. Thankls.
Current system:
QDS15 cd, Decware Zt pre, Soliloquy 5.3 speaks, kimber 4tc speak wire, (bi-wired).

P.S According to the wife, I won't be adding anything new to the system for quite a while! Good news is, I do have the go ahead for the extremes.

i got my monos a week before christmas and had also considered the dual
mono. if i had i would have second guessed myself into therapy. absolutely
no regrets. go for it! space was a problem for me but i bought two amp
stands, longer interconnects, shorter speaker cables and placed the monos
with the speakers. works well, looks great.
