I started down the audiophile rabbit hole 15 years ago but only dabbled around the edges. I'm now looking to upgrade from a Sonos ZP90/Bel Canto 1.1 Dac combo (obviously connected via digital out) to something higher end. I have a good amp, preamp and speakers, however, I'm looking to update the DAC/Streamer to 2021 standards. Denafrips Venus II or Terminator II are interesting (this would need a streamer, but the Innuos Zen Mk3 is intriguing), so is the Aurender A10. I recently stumbled upon the Bryston BDA-3.14 which looks real interesting, as well as one of the better Marantz SACD players (it seems that the DAC is quite good), I can find a used one in the $3-$4K range. Anyway, this is all a bit confusing and overwhelming so I'm hoping to glean opinions and experiences from users on this site to help me in the search.
