Thanks Jim!!!

My HT3's had their resistors fried by some electrical surges that also took out an active XO.

My speakers are more than a year old and the failure had nothing to do with parts wearing out etc.. or anything that Jim should have been responsible for.

Jim repaired these free of charge.  This was no mean feet because to get to the resistors he had to take out the XO boards, and to get to these required major surgery.

Anyway, thanks Jim, I really appreciate the service   :thumb:

Another reason for external crossovers - they are much easier to service! :)

Marbles, are you an easy drive from Jim, or did you actually ship your speakers?

Neither, it's 3 hours to Jim's..I take them there.

I asked Jim to drop them off with Eric Hider (ehider) after he fixed them up, so he could experience Eric's system.

Thanks again for that Jim...

Eric lives about 20 minutes from Jim.

Anyway, I picked them up from Eric's.

I agree that external XO's are much more convienent...

If you are that close, then you need to meander over for my January 20th HT meet in Canton, MI.  Jim will be there as well as Mark Seaton and Mark Schifter.  I have a modest HT but we have a strong HEMI group in Michigan (Home Theater Enthusiasts of Michigan) that move around the state from HT to HT seeing demos, eating, BS'ing, and eating some more.

Open invitation to all Salk/HT nuts.   :drums: :hyper: :banana piano:

Should start a new thread.  Max, in Michigan, you should come over for the day.

I tried.  No luck on that one.  BMF sub and maybe their new humongous center channel if I am lucky.
