Title: iDSDBL and spdif?

If I want to use the spdif input on my iDSDBL, how do I set the preamp/direct switch? Clarification -- I want to send a spdif signal into the IDSDBL, not the other way around. Also, is it safe to use the iPurifier on this connection?

I want to try something but I don't want to hurt anything in the process either.
