Cosmetic Description: 7/10 Very good cosmetic condition with some minor visible cosmetic wear including minor scratches and rubbing on the front, particularly around the midrange drivers. The sides and top show very light scratches.

Other Notes: These speakers are one of a kind. What we know about them: They were among Brian Cheney's VMPS inventory which was all liquidated as a lot. They are in the exact same cabinets as the RM-40s and share the same drivers (though these have fewer). The sound is everything you would expect from VMPS - A big full-range with deep bass, but very refined throughout the upper frequencies. Very life-like with a huge soundstage. You'll want t a big listening room for these, but with a little time invested in set-up, you can truly achieve world-class performance from these. The cabinets are as dense as they come... each speaker weighs about 250 lbs.

Shipping: Shipping within the Continental USA is approximately $399. This includes securing to a pallet with adequate protection and shipping via FedEx Freight to a residential address anywhere in the Continental USA. This rate can be reduced by $60 if a commercial delivery address available or if item can be picked up at nearest FedEx Freight depot. "I'm moving and must sell my prized VMPS FF3 Loudspeakers.

They were originally purchased in about 2000-2003 direct from Brian Cheney at VMPS in Oakland, CA.

The speakers are contain virtually every available option, including:

    * Upgraded Capacitors
    * Kevlar Woofers
    * Upgraded Cone Surrounds
    * Monster Cable Inside
    * Cabinet Wood Upgrade.

Both of the speakers are identical, and both are in identical condition.
The only damage to the speakers, is that a corner of the grill was torn by my Boston Terrier Puppy, and is easily repairable (see photo).

"The first passive sub (and their most powerful) designed by Brian Cheney of VMPS to be used by NASA to reproduce 120db of sound pressure @ 20hz which even today is still a very difficult feat for any sub to achieve. Primarily because you need a large box with large drivers to do that. This is a large box with large drivers. 39" x 21.5" x 17 in size. It is a 6.2 cubic ft box, made of 1" thick mdf, with one 12" poly woofer with rubber surround and one 15" active poly woofer with foam surround, and one mass loaded 15 inch passive radiator tuned to 10 hz, and all internal wiring with 11 gauge monster cable . It requires an amplifier and I recommend at least 100 watts (though VMPS says as little as 20), is better with 200 and loves 300 watts plus! VMPS offered a 1000 watt external amp option. Google will share all kinds of positive information about these. 4.89/5 on audioreview.com.

It is in excellent condition in every way. Couple of very small marks on the black oak wood cap. Grills frame and cloth are excellent as well. It is heavy at 130lbs. 4 ohms. I do not reply to asking if it is available. If posted, it is. Thank you for that understanding."

Interest Check

I may be reworking my system and going with 3 RM40s for the front and a set of RM2s for the surrounds. This leaves me with a single RM40 left over.

Looking to see if anyone is interested in buying an older (Dual Spiral tweeters and TNT Caps) RM40 for center duty in the Chicago/Milwaukee area. I even have an extra Aurum Cantus G3 tweeter I can package with the deal.
