"HAL" was a big part of HAL's moniker. I wanted him to know.

Glad to hear that the rumors of Rich's demise have been exaggerated.  I understand the intent of the subject heading, but perhaps it was ill advised.

Usually celebrity deaths are posted here - https://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?board=185.0

Posting it in the Hollis Audio Labs industry circle just created an erroneous impression.

mix4fix,

The news of my demise is greatly exaggerated!  :o

Thanks for the heads up about the voice of the HAL9000 from 2001 : A Space Odyssey and 2010 passing.  Very sad loss as they were both some of my favorite movies.

We also lost Stan Lee today at 95.

Guess the next Music Server PC here needs to be names the HAL9000.

  • To whom more was given more will be required.
    • Never go to a psychiatrist, adopt a straycat or dog. On the street they live only two years average.

At 2061/3001 Clarke managed David Bowman into a downloaded file in the monolith :duh:

I watched 2010 more times than 2001. I want the 2001 soundtrack.

Rich - when it boots up, instead of having the name of the person come up on the screen, you need to have a voice come up like:

HAL 9000: "I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that" - just substitute the correct name

It should say that when you try to play audiophile music.

When it starts up, it should say "Shall we play a song?".
