Alesis ML9600 CDR/HD recorder

I'm thinking of purchasing one of these CDR/HD stand alone recorders so I can transcribe LP's to CDR's and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the Alesis ML9600? Stereophile magazine reviewed it in their June 2002 issue.
