Lots of great drummers. Neil from Rush, Terry Bozzio when he was playing for Zappa, Bonham lay a heavy beat.
Too many Indian, African, Brazilian percussionists to mention.
Airto and Flora Purim was a nice combo.

Very glad to see Tain, Brian Blade, Trilok Gurtu, and Antonio Sanchez mentioned.

Gotta add Ignacio Berroa, Eric Harland, Jeff Ballard, and Sean "the Rick" Rickman. All are beyond amazing.

The gent who plays with Diana Krall is a great timekeeper as well.

That's Michael Giles...wonderful drummer, and one of the best of the Crimson 'alumni'.

I'm a guitarist but I've always been fascinated by the drum 'compositions' by the late Max Roach and the great Bill Bruford. I once owned the video below but lost it in a flood. Executive producer was Max Roach...
