Thanks Art, copy is on its way!

I saw Tommy Emmanual live last week and was really close to the stage. There are several references to his material a few pages back.

If you havent seen or heard this guy play a guitar you life is NOT complete!

Great cd: Center Stage:

If you like female jazz vocals, IE: Diana Krall and similar, Listen to this:

Sophie Milman - Take Love Easy.

http://www.amazon.com/Take-Love-Easy-Sophie-Milman/dp/B0026OIBQ8/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1300746306&sr=8-4

I have this disc and I think its great. She has a great set of pipes and is backed up by a tight Jazz group.

I may have posted this already- it's a long thread- I think everyone should have a Mapleshade CD for the liveness and immediacy.  I mean this is about as straight to your ears via a microphone(s) as a recording can get.  No filtering, no compression, no equalizing, just what's happening in real time.  Visit their website- www.mapleshaderecords.com - for selections or if you're adventurous enough for some avant/funk/jazz, look no futher than Sound Roots by Andy McKee and NEXT.  That's further with an attitude.

Hi, Jim...

Thanks for the reminder about Mapleshade CD's.

I must confess I dont have a one!.

I will take a look...seems like what the early GRP lable was doing with their direct to disc sessions...
Thelma Houston's I've got the Music in Me....

All the best

Hello,

I was  listening to some new stuff that really is pretty old but really sounds great!

The group is Special XFX and the CD is called Mystique.

It is an instrumental circa 1990 GRP label.

I saw it available at:

http://www.musicstack.com/album/special+efx/mystique

Wonderful sound, clarity and spaciousness.

Enjoy!

All the best

Eva Cassidy's Imagine CD has been mentioned a couple times.  I bought the CD and loved it.  So I picked up the Simply Eva CD.  An amazing CD and the song San Francisco Bay Blues is unreal on the Salks.

A SoundScape recommendation!  Kewl!  :thumb:

My old Silk Degrees LP really takes off above 85db on my SoundScapes.  I probably wouldn't have cranked it up without your recomendation.

I have an old CD of it and it sounds like crap.  I am glad they remastered it.

Don't know if all his recordings are as dynamic & clean as this, but the bass on this is rivaled only on Jim's demo disc. Musically, aside from rock, classical, & country, this pretty much covers all the bases. Blues, big band swing, gospel, jazz, cajun, bluegrass and more. imo the two versions of Rosewood are worth the cost alone.
