Permanent price reduction?

Permanent price reduction?

I noticed at both Wally World & BB that both the Xbox and P2 are now selling for $179.99 instead of $199.99; is this a permanent price reduction?  My guess is yes- I know they have MAP policies, so stores can't cut the price on their own.

The 'box in particular is now an awesome deal; MS was losing their ass on the hardware at $200!

Looks like I may be getting an Xbox for my room before too long.

Yup, $179.99 is the new standard price on both the PS2 & the 'box. Sony started it, MS had to keep up.

$179 is the same price I paid for my 'box 6 months ago...

I've read that a price reduction to $149 is coming for the '03 holiday season.  That would be good news, as I'm anxious to get a 'box for my second system.
