should i save more or settle with mini mes

i am saving up for the mini mes
but part of me can not help but think to myself
if i only save up a few hundred bucks more
i could buy the ts33 or if when i saved enough for them
i could save up a few more hundred and i could get the
hemptone 8s

so here comes my question
should i just buy the mini mes
or spend a extra 8months saving for the ts33
or spend a extra year saving for the hemptone 8

im sure the mini mes will sound great but are they alot
worse sounding then the ts33?

if i bought the mini mes i would also buy a sub woofer at a later stage
is that what the ts33 have over them,more bass?

my room is small
and living in the (un)united kingdom,shipping and import tax isn't cheap

I plan to use them with red wine audio,aspen,jucey music gear
playing folk,vocal,classical,live worship music

I can appreciate your situation as it takes me forever to save for a major audio purchase as well. Heres an idea to consider. Why not get a pair of Visaton B200s( maybe you can have a friend pick them up in Germany to avoid the VAT) and have them mounted in an open baffle. The open baffle should be relitively cheap to have made because its just a hole in a flat piece of wood. If you look at the Darkstar thread(long) you can see what I'm talking about. Depending on the size of the board you might lose a bit of bass, but for the types of music you listen to, it should be acceptable. If later on you wish to have the aperiodic cabinet you could send your B200s to Louis to complete the project. Hope this helps.

i never even knew you could do that
have the drive units mounted on a flat panel of plywood

I have a set of the b200's running in OB - if you do review all 28ish pages of that Darkstar thread in Vinnie's Circle, you will see two of the implementations I have used.

They sound really good to me, in my new room.

BUT, I have yet to hear the aperiodics - "local" AC member powerbench and I will get together at my place sometime soon, and we will each get to experience the face off of DIY OB vs Omega Aperiodic.

I look forward to seeing the cabinet work that Omega does, I always read great things about his work. And of course I want to hear those speakers too, and see if I want to pop for the cabinets!

Louis does some mods to the B200 to make it work better in his cabinet

Louis sent me the major B200 mod and I did it myself, easy. The workmanship on the cabinets was awesome! Couldn't get any better!
