As I celebrate my 86th birthday, I find myself reflecting on the incredible journey I have had. It is with a mix of gratitude and excitement that I announce that it is time to pass the remote.
After over 60 years of running Audio by Van Alstine, I have decided it's time to hand over the business' day-to-day operations to Mary Staples and the team. I certainly don't take this decision lightly, but there's little question in my mind that the time is right for this change.
Mary has been with me for many years, and over time she has become my trusted second-in-command. Her product and industry insights are now an integral part of AVA as is her passion for audio. I also know Mary is fully committed to the values that have allowed Audio by Van Alstine to remain in business all this time -- in a very difficult industry. I have absolute confidence she will care for the business as I have. There simply isn't anyone else I'd rather have taking the helm at AVA. Please join me in congratulating Mary in her new role.
Regarding product development, our engineering staff has been doing incredible and innovative work over the last few years. I'm immensely proud of their original thinking and what they have accomplished in our recent range of products. I have no doubt that their track record of excellence will continue into all future AVA endeavors.
I'm incredibly excited about the future of Audio by Van Alstine. There are some wonderful new products in the pipeline, and I'm sure it will surprise no one that these will continue AVA's commitment to making class-defining audio products at affordable prices. I'm eagerly looking forward to watching these make people happy in the same way we have been for decades.
While my role change means I won't be managing things on a day-to-day basis, I do plan to oversee the business as a whole for as long as I’m able. So, this isn't good-bye. It just means I finally get some time to relax and enjoy the music.
