I have renamed the Maya the Soraya Mk II, so that I don't have to remachine very expensive front panels!

The Soraya webpage does not work because it's not yet done.  I spent an entire day last week doing the Lifeforce 100 and the Hologram III power supply, tidying up the pricelist, and will need to take a deep breath next week to do the Soraya.

The amp is certainly available, no question, but I'm involved in so many things at present including a new Class A hybrid that I've paced myself out a little....  forgive me.....

Cheers,

Hugh

Hugh,

I'm not sure if you still have it, but the HTML code I sent you a while ago should help you fix up all the links for the time being. I think you only have to add the links for the Hologram III.

West,

Your intentions are clearly altruistic, for which I thank you profusely, but that vestigial reptilian part of my brain which should have developed along digital lines has, sadly, regressed.  I now spend most of my nights roaming the streets eating rats, dreaming of a fully analog world, sad but true......

I have about as much idea of how to use your code as a garden snail has about painting a Monet...... :duh:

I spent the afternoon yesterday at a small factory which specialises in surface mount repair and manufacture.  I came away very impressed.  This is brilliant, clever technology, and I will be using it to assist with the drudgery of hand assembly of my modules.  My top quality modules I will continue to make myself in my workshop, but starting with some lower power modules I hope to use for a HT amp, I will increasingly use smd.  After set up costs are paid, it's cheap, so cheap, and highly reliable if design is well done.  I tried my hand at some smd pcb design recently, and the EE at the factory was very impressed, and said it was commercial quality, and well designed from a layout standpoint.  So there's a skill I've picked up OK, a good sign....

The website issue doesn't worry me, I will fix the links soon anyway, I spent a day last week updating the SB3 power supply and Lifeforce 100 links, and remarkably, they are now up and running perfectly.

Cheers,

Hugh

Hugh,

Inserting the code wouldn't be difficult in theory, but since you have never worked with the bare HTML, I very much understand. If you were to look at the code from your website it would probably be a bit daunting.

Also, do you feel that the SMD resistors will sound as good as the ones you use now? Do you think it could affect performance?

West,

I reckon smds, particularly the 1210 half watt version I use, will sound just as good and arguably, because of lower inductance, they might even sound better.

Cheers,

Hugh
