The Theta product doesn't use the nc1200 but rather seems to use the new lower power Hypex ncore oem module like NAD.

This thread is about the Theta product. What does the Mola-Mola have to do with it?

I know, I am the one that started the thread. :D

It just seems odd that Theta, Rogue, Merrill, and a few others can continue to bring out new products in their line based on Ncore technology while Mola-Mola doesn't.

Mola-Mola is basically Bruno's side business or hobby. It doesn't seem to be a priority for him. I doubt there is any deep or significant reason why they aren't bringing all sorts of amp variations to market. From Bruno's past comments, it seems they are focusing on the be-all, end-all dac to be released in 2015.

I'm surprised the Theta isn't using NC1200 modules in the Dread IV?!?!

8 channels of NC 1200 in an amp? That would cost nearly $50K.

Per Theta's Jeff Hipps

"It's a custom version of the NC-1200. It's nearly identical to what we use in Prometheus."

Theta is offering a heck of a deal since this is NC1200 technology.

The Prometheus gets a very positive review in the latest Stereophile (Class A recommendation, superb measurements and all).
And all that with just a linear PS.   :green:

This is from Theta.

Class Warfare is Over
The debate over amplifier classes ended with Stereophile's March, 2015 issue when Larry Greenhill wrote,

Quote
"The Prometheuses delivered better midrange and treble definition, greater depth of field, greater jump factor, and better imaging than any other amplifier I've heard in years...My last impression of the Prometheus was the same as my first: It's one of the best-sounding amplifiers I've heard in my listening room. Seven months after I began listening to it, its soundstaging, imaging, depiction of detail and speed and slam, and its exciting dynamic contrasts remain totally addictive."
