Happy New Year to everyone!

Jim… thank you so much for keeping your website site and your AC site alive as they are important to those who own or want to own a pair of the great Salk loudspeakers that sometimes become available.

I’m hoping you can comment on the sonic differences and similarities between the Veracity STs and the Supercharged Song Tower....on paper they have similar drivers and I'm thinking they probably sound similar but maybe there are some differences?

Also, could you comment on who made the boxes and packing inserts for your speakers as some people have disposed of them and now wish they hadn't.

Thanks Jim...best to you and Mary in the new year.

Thanks for the kind words.  As to your question...

There are three models that share the same basic driver configuration - the Supercharged SongTowers, Veractity ST's and Veracity HT2-TL's.  They feature 5", 6" and 7" Seas Excel magnesium drivers respectively.

All three of these designs were voiced for an F3 of 34Hz.  But if you compare the sound of the Supercharged SongTowers to the HT2-TL's, you will swear the HT2-TL's play deeper.  They don't.  They just move more air down low.  Since the Veracity ST's have a 6" driver that sits between the 5" and the 7", you would assume that the perceived bass would be in the middle of these two designs.  But in reality, the sound of the Veracity ST's is closer to the HT2-TL's than the Supercharged SongTowers.

Since they all use a custom version of the RAAL 70-20, the upper frequencies are the same.  So the only difference between these three designs is the perceived level of deeper bass.

I hope this answers your question.

Thank you so much Jim...also, can you comment on who made your boxes and Styrofoam pack materials?

We had a custom tele-twin box designed for us by a local corrugated company.  We ordered the hard foam from a roofing supply company and cut it with a wire cutter system we developed internally.  So neither are something you could just order off the shelf.
