At that pace it won't take you very long  8)

That pace is slowing down. I used up my birthday money. It should take some time to listen to them all.  :)

Did you get those 300+ CDs from the local good will store?  I frequently check out my local good will places and am lucky to get 3 or 4 at a time.  Of course, a lot of other people are checking out the same places frequently.  At a buck or two for each CD, there are a lot of opportunists including me.

No, it would take me years to get all that from the local Goodwill stores. I usually can find 6 to 10 CDs a week to buy at Goodwill between the two nearest locations. I only check once a week. Of the CDs above 16 are from local pawnshops (cheapest pricing), 14 from Goodwill, 28 from Amazon (mostly the newer albums), and the rest in lots from eBay. Spent around $550 for all those albums. Prices varied between all the CDs.

How would you rate the disc quality of the lots you've been buying? I have REALLY bad OCD and freak-out when I order discs that are advertised as "like new" and they arrive with even minor/faint scratches or small problems with the cover art. Do you find the lots to be in generally good condition? By that I mean - when advertised as "like new" do they arrive (mostly) matching that description? Every disc in my collection looks like it was just removed from the shrink-wrap and I would end up having to replace anything that wasn't. These days I only order stuff from Amazon and eBay when it's from a trusted seller, or someone who guarantees the quality. That's a lot of questions, but generally just wanting to know how your luck has been buying them.

Thanks,

Slush

Well, I am not OCD about my CDs. :)

I am mainly burning them to my music server, so getting a CD that plays is paramount. The ones from the pawn shops were in the worst condition, but I was able to rip them with no problems. Two of the lots didn't have jewel cases (15 for $9, 48 for $26), which is fine with me. Another lot didn't have cover notes on the jewel cases, but I knew that going in (30 for $20). I just bought 78 individual auction CDs from the same seller to save on cost which the condition was individually indicated. Will let you know how that turns out. I should get them next week.
