Title: Movie you watched the Most?
Post by: Mag on 26 Jun 2019, 01:26 am
I reckon I have watched 'The Good, The Bad, The Ugly' the most upwards of 100 times in my lifetime.

Runner up would be 'High Plains Drifter'.

Have quite a few movies in my collection. Generally I can re-watch a movie about 4 times before I don't care to see again, with a few exceptions.

Music on the other hand that I like. I can re-listen to 1000's of times.

What Movie have you watched the most?

Not really my choice, but I've watch That Thing You Do more than any other movie.

I rarely watch a movie more than once - no matter how good.
For a long time by a long shot, my favorite movie is (was?) Brazil by Gilliam. It's not the best* movie I've ever seen, just my favorite.
*There is no "best" movie - many stand as incredible films which stand on their own merits.

Nope. Even as a kid I wouldn't watch a movie again. I've never owned a TV. (They have been in places I've lived.) I now just watch movies on my computer.
I watch about 15-20 movies a month. I've always read a lot - while listening to music.

Three of my favorite movies, but I can't say I've watched them a lot, maybe two or three times tops if we're counting front to back all the way through.  If we're counting coming across it halfway through while channel surfing likely dozens.

The one movie you can watch over and over and over again?

Groundhog Day

Oh, and I can never pass up the annual Kill Bill vol 1& 2 marathon.

What about Christmas movies? I’m guessing some of you watch the same Christmas movies every year, even if you won’t admit it. A Christmas Story? Wonderful Life? Christmas Carol? Scrooge? We’ll watch Best Years of Our Lives and Seven Samurai during the holidays though how that tradition started I haven’t a clue.

Groundhog Day

Yeah, that’s a good flick   I’ve seen it at least four or five times.

Part of the reason why I watched (studied) some films so many times over had to do with being a student hoping to get into the industry. When I lived in the big city, there were a number of 2nd tier discount theatres that played movies that had just finished their course in the regular theatres. The screens were relatively small but still a fair bit bigger than a typical big screen TV by today’s standard. Admission was only $2. Ah, the good old days.

Undoubtably, The King Of Hearts. Largely because for my group of friends and I in our teens going to see it was what we did when not much else was going on. It was the cult movie before Rocky Horror Picture Show (yes, I know I'm dating myself). A somewhat obvious but charming anti-war satire starring Alan Bates and Genevieve Bujold, it has a lovely score by Georges de la Rue (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Georges_Delerue). De la Rue was a great film composer who scored over 350 films (many great and/or famous) and won many awards including an Academy Award and three Césars (the French equivalent of an Academy Award).

Same here. Agree on the final cut version. Still own a Laserdisc copy even though I sold my Pioneer player years ago.

I’ve owned the movie on VHS, laserdisc (Criterion collection CAV), DVD, Blu-Ray and now 4K Blu-Ray. My wife’s and my first date was to see the 10th Anniversary Edition at the Hillcrest Theater in San Diego.

I've never seen Blade Runner. Maybe it's high time, even if I can't stand Harrison Ford.

A movie I seem to be able to watch over and over again is "Alien."  And "Mulholland Drive."

My all time favorite--2001 A Space Odyssey.  Saw it when it came our in high school (in cinerama no less) and have since seen it around 30 times.  This number is more impressive than it sounds because this is only the number of times I've seen it in a theater (i.e. film presentation--not digital/video)

Wow, you watch a movie every other day but watch it on a computer monitor???  I don't quite get it.  You're missing out on what a large screen in your house, not to mention surround sound, can bring to a movie.  To me that is like listening to your favorite music on a boom box.

Movies that I can easily watch over and over:

Jaws
The Green Mile
Shawshank Redemption
North By Northwest
Psycho
The Pelican Brief
Thomas Crown Affair (The remake)
Silence of the Lambs
Avatar
Almost any Clint Eastwood movie

I usually don't watch movies over and over but I can recommend one movie that I saw 2-3 years ago and still think it is one of the best I have ever seen.  Its called 3 Idiots.  Its an Indian movie released in 2009 and is long - approx 3 hours but if you can find it with subtitles - its outstanding.  One of the highest grossing Indian movies worldwide.

Went to my local library to find a comedy and saw the title in the DVD racks.  Thought it was an English movie and checked it out.  At home found out it was an Indian movie and decided to watch anyway.
