Does anyone know if there is any commercial speaker that utilizes Raal tweeter?

Thank you

Commercial, as in available for customer purchase?  Sure, Jim Salk, Rick Craig, and myself (Vapor Audio) all build designs with the RAAL.  You could also spend $60K and get the Kaiser Kawero.

Raal is expensive (about a $400 per pair upcharge from typical soft domes).

If you try pricing components versus MSRP for completed speakers it will, in most cases, shock you.

I would love to hear these RAAL-Requisite Eternity speakers with 360 degree Raal tweeters. Did anyone hear these at the 2009 CES show?

One Ac'er said his friends have been getting rid of their MBL 101's for the Kaiser Kawero's. The Kaisers were one of the very best speakers I heard at RMAF.

Add in Dennis Murphy's Philharmonic lines.  He designs many of the crossovers in Jim Salk's speakers.

Hmmm...... 5 X 15" woofers in a bronze casting, 18 X 3" midranges and 15 X RAAL ribbons in an omni array.  Now I need to remember where I stashed that extra $88K of mad money.

That actually looks like a bargain compared to the $66k Kaiser Kawero's.

I see that Emily Lou Harris owns a pair. Do you think she would invite  all of us over for a demo?

I would even offer to bring the smoked salmon plate.

It will be interesting to see what the baby Instinct will cost, with 5 X 8" woofers, 8 X 3" mids and 4 x 70-10D RAAL ribbons .....

No, we're talking true ribbons (not planar magnetic ribbons), and just not any ribbons at that, but the quintessential RAAL ribbon tweeters.

Yea, i was refering to Raal ribbon in particular. Most high end even really expensive one still uses dome. There is also some that uses some form of light or laser beam, i cant remember what it was, i will have to look it up and post back. But as far as Raal, there isn't many though.

I sure wish I knew more about speaker design. Would anyone here know if this is a feasible match? Would this be a great DIY project?

Open baffle speaker with full range driver-95/1 watt db efficiency.

http://www.decware.com/newsite/FRX.html

+Raal's dipole ribbon tweeter-93 db/1 watt efficiency,

I know there are some great speaker designer's here on AC, if anyone could help, I would appreciate it very much.

IMO that Decware FRX is a joke ... for more reason why you can search my post history when it was discussed about 5-6 months ago.  And since the dipole RAAL can go down to 1800hz easily anyway, why would you consider a full ranger?

If you ever make it up to St Louis you can listen to what a near perfect RAAL design sounds like.
