I heard that this is supposed to be released 5-23-05 as a 20th birthday cd and surround sa-cd... anyone have more info?

Yes I have his latest Shangra la on sa-cd and I have a feeling this new release will have to be ordered from the UK...just like Shangri la.

There are 2 versions of the SACD, a regular and a limited edition digipak version. As far as I know, the content is the same. Here's a 10 page thread at stevehoffman.tv on the SACD release of "Brothers In Arms" (with links to the best online deals for the SACD)....

I've been pretty anxious for this one, as Brothers In Arms is one of my all time favorite albums. Hopefully they've created a good MC mix...

Received mine yesterday. Very good updating on the sound quality with the SACD stereo tracks. CD layer is HDCD-encoded. I don't have a multi-channel setup, but from what've read on the net, the surround mix is of reference quality.

I would agree that the multi channel is reference quality and also add that the 2 channel mix is superior to the bright sounding xrcd copy I own.
