The first question should be rather easy to answer:
What are the dimensions of the side wings of the NX-Otica? I need them so I can order veneer in the right size.
The second question is about acoustic treatment on the frontwall.
My room is 24,5ft by 18ft. I already have 12 absorption panels on the sidewalls/ceiling (my room is an attic, so the sidewalls pretty much are the ceiling).
Each panel is 1,6ft wide ,3ft long and 4 inches deep.
Since the NX-Oticas are dipole speakers I won't be able to avoid diffusion on my frontwall anymore.
I found 2 options so far, that seemed reasonable:
1. DIY skyline diffuser
I used the calculator from this site:
http://www.mh-audio.nl/Acoustics/DiffusorCalculator.asp?fl=573&fh=4100&calc=Calculate+Diffuser#result As the lowest frequency I used 573hz and 4100hz as the highest.
I plan on building 8 of these panels, 4 behind each speaker.
2. DIY quadratic diffuser by Acoustic Fields
The one I planed on building was the DIY version of this one:
https://www.acousticfields.com/product/sounddiffuser-acousticdiffuser-qd23/ I was going to build 2 or 4 of these.
They sell the plans for it in a bundle with some other diffusion panel plans for 49$. It seems like a fair price.
Which diffusers should I choose? Or are there any better DIY options out there?
Thanks in advance for any answers!
