Modify UDH-100 DAC/headphone for S/PDIF
« on: 11 Mar 2016, 04:19 pm »
Hi,

I have a a UDH-100 DAC/Headphone Amp that I like but find that it's use of a Tenor USB input a problem especially with Linux. I am a big user of Picoreplayer Squeezebox replacements and the best I can achieve is 16 bit mode.

I do a lot of mods and I have wondered if the usb input board could be modified to accept a S/PDIF input? Looking at the input board makes me think there might be a way? I am thinking that the USB signal is getting converted to S/PDIF at some point so this should be possible?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thanks.

UDH-100 is a NuForce product that is not under NuPrime. Anyway, you will be better off buying the NuPrime designed Encore mDSD which is only $99 (Indiegogo project was closed but you can purchase it from sonicunity.com). That will get you a state of the art USB DAC with optical output.
