I too had the opportunity to directly A-B the Bose sub-sat system with the Cambridge Ensemble II. The Bose was shrill, bright, and hard. The Cambridge, aside from a bit of tubbiness in the bass that was completely cured by a little Plasticlay, was far more musical and listenable.

dB - how bad is the Cambridge?

If anybody have it or have had it, I like to know your thoughts on it.

I think I had one in 2012. It's okay. If you found one in a thrift shop for $20. It's fine for the garage or background music. Better than Bose....but that's not saying much I guess.

Let's just say that I was impressed with it enough to keep trying other budget speakers.

Cambridge Soundworks has been out of business for a couple years now. I bet there are much better budget sub/sat systems from Edifier and the like.
