Rippping Vinyl to DXD
« on: 30 Jun 2019, 03:56 am »
Does anyone have any experience ripping Vinyl to DXD (24/384)? I see there are a couple of ADCs out that that support this resolution. I am wondering what software packages on Mac would support this resolution. I think VinylSudio Pro only goes to 24/192. Not sure about Audacity. I have Audiogate with Korg ADC
and it only goes to 24/192. Thanks for any insights.

BTW my objective is to rip vinyl (Technics SP10 MkII/ Basis Vector Arm/ Soundsmith Paua) to a high enough resolution that the digital playback is equal to the vinyl playback. DSD128 is pretty close with the Korg, but is shaves off a little bit of dynamics...Plus you cannot edit DSD...Hence my interest in DXD)

Audacity goes up to 384. Ripping to WAV files usually shows 32 bit. It does not say DSD or DXD. You might check with the developer or see if there is a forum dedicated to it for that answer.

Mike,
Thanks...I was trying to search Audacity for the max resolution supported, but was not finding it...I will check that out. Thanks
