New member from Maine saying hello
« on: 27 Nov 2024, 02:38 pm »
Hi everyone I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums. :D This seems like a great place to learn especially about Omega speakers. I've had my eye on the super 3i speakers and the DeepHemp sub. I have the Schiit Ageir 2 and Freya+ I'm hopping this would be a good match. Looking forward to being able to use the search feature on the forums so I can find out if this combination has been done before.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome to AC.
Looks like pretty solid choices to me even if I haven't heard the Schiit pieces (just have 2 SYS for temporary setups or testing things).

Thanks for the welcome, yeah I really dig the sound of the Aegir hopfully it's a good match. In the future I'd like to build a SET, possibly a Elekit, I love projects like that. From what i've read it seems SET's are the most popular way to power Omega speakers.

Class A in general.  My Pioneer M-22 30wpc Class A (solid state) is the best results I've had with the Omega SAM-HOs yet.  Most recent comparison would be a Dennis Had Inspire pre-amp/SEP combo.

SET with Omegas is absolutely a viable direction you can take.   Good place to put some focus.  There are many success to find.

One config I often go with is Omega Super 5 (with the RS5 driver) and Musical Paradise MP-301 MK2 integrated.  Sound is plush, expansive, deep, separated and slightly warm this side of neutral; no freq accentuation pop ups.  Enjoyable as hell.
