Capitola, but as a true Northern Californian - Fort Bragg - I think of everything south of Sonoma County as Central California, and even Sonoma County is suspect. Funny story - when I was in Europe I met a woman from Eureka and when I told her I was from Northern California, since I was from Fort Bragg she told me that up in Eureka Fort Bragg isn't considered Northern California. Maybe people in Crescent City lump Eureka in with Los Angeles.

I lived in shingletown/redding for a while and they thought that northern california started at red bluff :o

Ahhh, the never ending debate, do we have 3 states in one, or just two.  I've always considered it two states, So-Cal and Nor-Cal, I draw the line at SLO town (San Luis Obispo).

20-year San Franciscan via East LA a la Cheech.
Ecologically speaking, the SF Bay itself is the division between northern and southern terrestrial ecosystems.
But SoCal culture is pretty much all over NorCal now (how is Walnut Creek different than say, the OC?)

10 years in San Francisco since we retired; prior to that, born, raised, and lived in DC and surrounding areas most of my life.

Haven't lived there (San Francisco) in years but can't miss a chance to reminisce.  The lower Haight right across the street from 1090 Page near Divisadero.  Big Brother used to rehearse in the parlor.  Traded the owner of Both/And on Divisadero some avant garde jazz albums for lifetime free admission.  A block off upper Fillmore on Sacramento across from the dental college.  Japanese town.  Honeymooned at Deetjin's Big Sur Inn on the coastal highway.  Plan to visit Carmel early next year.

When we were looking, we checked out "Big Red", the place near Page and Broderick where many of the the George Clinton P-Funk gang lived or hung out, which was on the market at the time.  Amazing place, price was right, but would have cost a fortune to do the repairs it needed 10 years ago.

Im in santa rosa 55 miles n of the golden gate. Don't post much but always watching. I put my main rig in my 14 year old sons bedroom while the X-mas stuff is dominating the house. He is hooked..... reel him in slowly..... Boom Boom Boom is not as sweet as high fidelity!

Hi there, Bay Area Audio crazies  :)

I hail from San Jose - Willow Glen neighborhood. Am trying to build my first decent 2 channel system - the project has been on since 2 years and not a single piece of equipment bought yet - just researching  :icon_lol:
