Nice setup guf.  I've tried my CAM's on the desktop and they worked really well.  How do your HO's image on the desktop?  Also, what are you running for a front end (amp, DAC, etc.)?

I actually did it not being serious, thought it would be a funny post.  I really wanted to hear an Alinco on my desktop. I'm impressed how good these sound. It just looks ridiculous. Thats a 27inch iMAC! and it dwarfs them. I wouldn't say the imaging is as great my living room.  If my chair was 6 inches higher it would be more ideal.

I have a 45 amp, Tortuga pre, Holo Spring Dac, into a mrendu. Roon, Hqplayer.

Just for reference. My desktop 3s

FWIW, this is a great way to test headphones. Since the speakers are so near-field, assuming you can drive the speaks and the cans at the same time with the same source (i use a Chord Hugo2), you can take the cans on and off to compare. I found this out by accident when a buddy brought his top-of-the-line HifiMan planars (?) over. I plugged them in, slipped them over my head and said to myself "WTF - they're not working - nothing changed" :-). Nice headphones!

RS5 is amazingly versatile.  Hum, should I move the Super 5's to desk too?   :weights:
