Speakers to Cry For
« on: 3 Mar 2006, 06:51 am »
Folks,

Well, I wasn't going to spill the beans, but since Greg Weaver of PFO put it in print, I might as well.  Just in case he was sensitive to this, I didn't want to embarrass Jim Merod by shooting my mouth off.  I guess there's no point in worrying about that now.

Yes, I was there - and tears were running down his face.  You have no idea what that made me feel like.  When a man looks you in the eye, firmly shakes your hand and tells you that you've done a "wonderful thing," well...I can't explain it.  Let's just put it this way:  It's a pretty profound experience.  And then to have him go on and on telling you that yours are the best speakers he's ever heard in his life. WOW!  I was floored.  Unless he was pulling my leg, he told me that he had over 30 pairs of speakers at home and that he HATES speakers - except mine - he LOVES them.  Humbling?  That doesn't even come close.

Then he ran out to God knows how many other exhibitor's rooms and told all these people he knew to come to our room.  Before long people started flooding in.  That's when I met Steve McCormack (of McCormack Audio)and Greg Weaver(of PFO).  Then they expressed that they were extremely impressed as well and we talked for at leasty a couple of hours.  Man, in the matter of a few hours they all made me feel like I was some kind of "superstar."  I was completely blown away.

So there you go.  If Jim hadn't cried, I would have told everyone about this before now.  Well, better late than never - and it's all the truth.
