I really love these speakers.  I do like to listen to 2 channel mostly but I do watch some HT.  Any idea when the new center channel will be available? :?:

drpipes,

Why don't you give Albert Wu a call?  I'm sure he has an update.

Please tell.  Where did you see a pic of the new center channel speaker?  it's not on the Hyperion website.

If Albert doesn't mind, perhaps you can post a picture on this thread?

drpipes, go to FAQ at the top of the page, under User Preferences click "How do I show images in my posts?".  Just follow the directions.

Or try this link:  http://audiocircle.com/circles/faq.php#49

Just checked out the center speaker and I think I see 2 new speakers  :o
One's a mini floorstander and another looks a little like our 938...

Yes, I see there are two new speakers.  So who's going to build a all-Hyperion home theater speaker system ? :P

I have the new 8-C center channel.  I am a little disappointed because vocals are kinda grainy.  Any ideas?

How long have you allowed the center speakers to break-in?  Amplification?  Speaker wire?

About 100 hours.  Using Lexicon RT-10, Theta Casanova Processor, ADCOM GFA 7607 amp (125 Watts/ch), and PS Audio Extreme Statement Bi wire.  It just sounds distorted on the dialogue.  I was so pumped about getting it because of the great 938's but now I am disappointed.  I had to order the speaker from Colorado because there is no dealer in my area (Alabama) so it will be hard for me to get the thing checked out.  Thinking about ditching it and getting a Paradigm center channel and eating the loss :(

Maybe a faulty driver in the speaker?  You should send it back and have it checked.  All Hyperion speakers I've heard including their cheapest monitor have very transparent midrange.  Doesn't seem right.

Hi,

I am also considering a centre channel for my HT to go with the 938s.

Was there any resolution to this thread?

How did the Hyperion finally work out?

I have the Hyperion center and love it.  Had to change an innerconnect and it made all the difference in the world.  Have never been able to decide if it should be run in "large" or"small" mode on my A/V preamp.  Running in "small" now and seem to like it.
