New here. Shopping for my first serious speaker. My current set up is a kenwood ka 6004 amp/receiver powering M&K S-1B speakers. Source material is from tidal on my computer running through an older audioquest usb dac and also an ADC CD100x CD player.
I inherited a Maranz sr 7001 from my father and want to buy a speaker under $3000 that is a significant upgrade from my M&Ks and will run with the Marantz for now (I plan on getting a dedicated amplifier at some point). I've listened to Martin logan 40i and 60xti, kef ls50s, paradigm premier 800fs, and prime pinnacles. The paradigms were my favorite.
I'm now looking at the Salk song 3. A little bit out of my price range, but I like that the bass will be sufficient and I will not need a subwoofer. I have a smaller listening space. Looking for other recommendations!
