DSD popping up quite a bit in discussions

Hello all,

As a follow up to the Format Pesto I thought I might dig a little deeper. DSD has cropped up in conversation a lot. Both here and on other fora. It would be interesting to know if this has a long term future and how (outside of SACD) is it being played back? Also what are the merits in your views?

This poll has also shown that digital music is really getting traction even amongst the hifi lobby.

We are getting more and more of an education regards this new (old) format and how it is now being implemented.  Something I wish Sony had done years ago.

It is all starting to look quite interesting. Anyone have experiences they would like to share on this? Have you played with the available DACs? How do you get your source material? Is it worthy of all the hype?
