You know you've made your mark on the music world when this happens.... twenty five years after you die.

65,000 fans waiting for a "Green Day" concert all sing in unison to the Queen song playing on the PA system.

Wow fantastic, great moment, Queen was miles ahead from the Green Day silly hardcore ''music''.

Putin's rendition of 'Creep' before a captive audience and obviously before the Stephen Wilson mix from the original tapes. He's got the moves, he's got timing, and he looks good with his shirt off ... I'm thinking rock star.

From the comments:

"Only Queen could rock an entire stadium without even being there."

Indeed. Most of the comments hit the nail on the head.
Have to admit, I got a bit teary eyed listening to the crowd and reading the comments.

I can't get past the fact the we lost Freddie in 1991. Good grief; time flys.

I'll never stop missing him. What an entertainer.

He was one of a kind, no doubt about that.  Love him or hate him, there was no one like him.

Journey managed to find a Filipino kid to take over Steve Perry's (distinctive) vocals and he does an amazing job.  But I'll bet dollars to doughnuts no one will ever be found to take Freddie's place (even if Queen were still touring).  I even saw the (execrable) "We Will Rock You" show on the London stage several years ago and the lead had a truly impressive set of pipes, but Freddie Mercury he was most definitely not.

This'll be interesting, though:

Freddie is so iconic, that I doubt his fans would allow or admit he's been "replaced".

I have to agree with the comments about Freddie, and it's hard to imagine that it's been over a quarter century since his departure. As next year comes to a close, we will cross the 25 year mark sans Frank Zappa, although Dweezil has done a spectacular job of filling that void (from the perspective of live performance).

Here's another pair of musicians, one with a rather distinctive voice of his own, that one usually wouldn't mentally pair. After hearing them together, one can' help but wonder, "Why not?" This is Joe Bonamassa and Tina Guo.

Phil Collins managed to substitute Peter Gabriel very well in Genesis.

I finally got a Blu-ray copy of "Porcupine Tree: Anesthetize", audio quality is outstanding. Highly recommend this to anyone who is a Porcupine Tree fan, if you can find one.

I've had this Blu-ray for a few years, and I definitely I second the recommendation. I agree that the audio quality is outstanding, but so is everything else about it.

Regarding Steven's latest release, 'To the Bone', I really like it. Musically, I could live without the sixth track ('Permanating'), but the song does have redeeming qualities (even if I don't like the whole package), as does everything he creates. Anyway, every album has a song like this one, and they always seem too short.

Slowed music are calling my attention lately, the best case so far are the Tangerine Dream masterpiece Phaedra slowed 50%, much more enjoyable than the regular version since this piece run various changes faster than the Ambient music standard currently used:
