Apex II audition
« on: 20 Jul 2006, 08:12 pm »
If anyone in my area is interested in hearing the RAW Apex II drop me a PM and we can get together for a little listen.  I'm only doing this to help someone on the fence so to speak.  It's a little hard to make the decision to buy a speaker without hearing it  :icon_lol:  I know and am happy it worked out good for me ;)

Tony

BTW:  I'm about 20 miles south of Jacksonville, FL and about 3 miles off of I95

Thank you Tony for opening your door :thumb:

With the Apex II as you made note of avery hard speaker to judge till you have a chance to listen to them.

Then they are a little large to send around for a demo program.

Wish Milwaukee was closer to Jacksonville!

I've been thinking about building one.  The 2641 provides more output than I'll ever need, but there's something about having a giant "statement" speaker that is appealing.  :-)

I also would like to try this damn ribbon that Al keeps talking up.  ;-)

no problem Al  :D  glad to do it.

kfr01:  I agree - maybe it would be a little cooler  :?

Here's a couple pics I took today - Al did a fantastic job with the veneer.  My room is really dark but with the flash it shows up pretty good.

Thanks George.  If you click on my system link the only thing thats changed is the amps are now(maybe) Jolida 3000a's with Response Audio Reference mods (I love the Butlers but 800+ wpc in a 12x14 room is a bit overkill) and the cable's from the Tact to amps is now a BMC Pinnicle Gold(soon to change - need a shielded cable).  It's sounding pretty good but the amps are gonna need about 200 hrs - they only have about 5 so far  :|

So you were the one that got the steal on Bill's amps?

Congrats.

I didn't realize that they are 200 watts/channel - damn!

Keep us posted on how they sound as they break in.
