Bryston Streamers + Tidal Connect?
« on: 3 Nov 2020, 08:12 pm »
Hello,

James just wondering if there's any plan for Tidal Connect to be baked into BDP firmware so that our Tidal apps on our phones/tablets/computers can 'see' our Bryston streamers?

I do realize Tidal is usable from within the Manic Moose firmware, but having the BDP show itself from within the Tidal app would be ideal!

Thanks,

Evan

The paper work for this access to this was submitted to TIDAL in the late summer 2020 and waiting to hear back.

Awesome thank you Chris!

If/when this comes to Bryston - what's the best way for us to stay up to date? Potentially this forum?

Thanks,

Evan

Just bumping this up - hearing users are loving Tidal Connect with other players like Node 2 etc - hoping this can be brought to the BDP1 and later.

Thanks,

Evan

Hi James,

Anything happening with regards to "Tidal Connect" being incorporated into Bryson's software?

Thanks,
Richard

Awww.

I am trudging along with MM for now but it logs me out of Tidal every day.  Is this a browser issue or BDP issue?

Neither and outside of our control, its a new requirement from TIDAL

Chris,
I think there is a cookie monster.  I can't even log in now.  Tried iOS and Windows.

Dear James,

+1 on Tidal Connect support, as this would make the BR20 an excellent "streaming preamplifier" candidate for non-Apple and/or non-Roonified users.

Owning and having enjoyed multiple Bryston products, I believe this would put the BR20 in a place with not much competition user friendliness-wise (being on the search for a streaming preamplifier myself - not a streaming DAC with volume control - that supports Tidal Connect, I couldn't find many options as of now: Simaudio 390, NAD M12, dCS, and very few other ones). I thus hope that Tidal Connect will find its way onto the BR20...

Kind regards,
Alex

Hi,

keen know if anything further may be happening with Tidal Connect and BDP devices.  In the meantime,
is there a way to "cast" from a device, such as a tablet or laptop, running the Tidal web app to
a BDP-2 ?  I see there is a DLNA renderer service but I have no experience with using it.

Just Airplay. I don’t use it because I believe enabling the shairport service disables the mpod service (so MM or whatever interface you use to play from local drives won’t work).
