This is really nice to know!  Thanks for the heads up on AVA taking a third of the affordable amplifier category.

Lucky for the competition that TAS has not heard our new Synergy solid state amplifiers yet.  :)

We are now just about caught up from our huge Summer Sale, so we can build you a new AVA component now with a 3-4 week lead time again.  I can even make a couple of "gotta have it for Christmas" orders requests.

Best regards,

Frank Van Alstine

If he started with an original ST-70 he needs new sockets just to hold steady bias. Or he has teflon sockets to tweak his amp with. :no_see: :no_hear: :no_speak:

It has the original ceramic sockets. I picked up some nice Teflon sockets and will drop them in when I have nothing better to do.  Have already replaced the power cord and the input and speaker connectors.

I've found that it's too easy to damage the ckt board when desolder the socket, I wouldn't do it unless I have to.....

"...The treble is somewhat closed in, and tonally, harmonic colors are on the dark side of reality, requiring careful system matching. At its best, the 600R can sound much like a $20k power amplifier...."

So like, what are they telling us to do with our systems so we get the best out of this amp?
