I have an original version 3B (1979 is the original manufacture date I believe?) that is currently being under-utilized in my HT system. I was thinking of using this amp in my 2 channel system to bi-amp along side my Power Pac 120's. Would this result in a noticeable improvement in sound quality (power/imaging/sound-stage/headroom/etc.) or would it be a step backwards since the 3B is not an SST like my monoblocks? Would there be a difference in gain between the two designs?
