I know Mark (Blackmore) too well and he'd never post this, he's too humble, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to let you guys know what Mark's up to  :thumb:

We all know Mark and Lisa play with the St Louis Wind Symphony but Mark recently hooked up with the multi-Award winning Ambassadors of Harmony. They are a 160 voice male choir that travels the globe singing barbershop quartet (mostly) music.

Mark is with them now in Munich at the Barbershop Musikfestival. Last night, they were on Bavarian TV and broadcast around the globe. The Ambassadors start around 2:30. Mark comes in to blow his horn around 2:45

The Ambassadors are based out of O'Fallon and are just one more of the many globally recognized groups that hale from St Louis.

Mark, you repped us well, congrats :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Mark is a man among men, a REAL musician, something a lot of these poser rockers today could never honestly claim.

Harmony is a gift, and understanding it from the math side is pretty mind-boggling.

Way to go, Mark.  :thumb:

That's fantastic, THANKS for the heads-up Scott!  :thumb:

I do find it a bit funny they went to Germany and performed an American soldiers song from WWII.

Congrats Mark!  :D

Hey Scott,

I watched the video with Mark playing trumpet and he's certainly very accomplished.  I play trumpet and know how difficult an instrument it is to play and he certainly sounds very good.

Thanks for sharing.

Cheers Rod

Thanks for the plug, Scott. I'm stuck in Chicago but should make it in around midnight. The Bavarian HD tv feed was really clean. Five mics above the choir and a stereo pair about fifteen feet out captured the trumpet. Love the Ambassadors of Harmony and St Louis guys need to hear them live. You've never heard anything quite like them. Awesome group and I was certainly blessed to be asked to play with them.

I was struck by the emotions listening through an iPad speaker.  Quite remarkable.  And no thinking of sound quality.

Large choirs are pretty amazing. All those voices can be tremendously powerful. I still remember those concerts from Jeanine's performances, though those were only 50-60 voices. I can only imagine 200 voices.

Welcome home :thumb: ....and to jet lag :green:
