Title: $200 dual zone receiver w/ phono stage?
Post by: roscoeiii on 15 Aug 2009, 05:42 pm
Hi folks,

I'm helping my girlfriend's roommate choose a new receiver, and she told me that she'd like a dual-zone receiver that can accommodate a record player. This price point is lower than I've been looking at in my own purchases lately, and I wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations, new or used.

I thought this would be mission impossible, but I did come across the Sherwood RX-5502 for $160 on Amazon, which has all of the features that she desires. Anyone have any experience with this receiver? Or impressions of Sherwood equipment in general?

I'd love to have good sound playing at my girlfriend's house, so would love any suggestions coming close to that price range. Or any impressions on the Sherwood RX-5502 or the Sherwood sound and/or reliability in general.

Many thanks.
