Anyone own the Marantz SA8005 and care to give me a quick rundown on what they think of it? Thanks.

   I have the SA8004 player. It is the very best SACD player I've owned.
   I've had a lot of CD players over the years. A couple were highly modified.
   One of them cost about $5000.00. I'm sure you will be very satisfied the
   SA8005. But I can't hear any difference between SA CD's and regular CD's

I love my SA8005.  It has a very solid feel to it.  I originally picked it up to play SACD disks that I own but I find I also enjoy spinning my Redbook disks.  I am really enjoying playing disks again.  Originally I did not believe I would be playing disks much, but wanted to be able to play the SACD disks that I have purchased. I wanted a better music only player and a few people suggested the Marantz.  I love the players controls and the sound is superb!

Too late because you already bought it, but I love mine as well. I didn't get it for SACDs but figured I'd pick a few up. But then never did.

I do use it as my DAC and have 3 Raspberry Pis hooked up to it. (Optical (Moode), coax (PiCorePlayer) and usb (HQPlayer))

Sounds great. Nothin not to like

  Waste of your money sending it to Modwright for tube modifications. Nothing against Modwright. He knows what he is doing. Just my opinion.

I have this and it's an awesome CD/SACD Player. Solid build, solid CD Mechanism and awesome sounding spinner...
