Mad Dog,

Very nice review.

Didn't know that you were a writer for Positive Feedback.

How about a review of the Argent Audio Jaden Signatures or Pursang?

On a different note, where can you get the Eichmann products?

Are you still using the Eichmann power cords?

George

Thanks, George...

Funny you should ask about the Argent products as I am enamored with the Argent Jaden Sig stuff I currently have in my system...I'm going to give Ric a call to see if he'll allow me to review the Pursangs...

Yes, I'm still using the Eichmann PC...Trying to get a few more for my amps and preamp now...

For info on where to get Eichmann products, contact Rob Woodland at: woodland@powerup.com.au

Mad Dog,
How did the Eichmann cables compare to the Ridge Street?

Mad Dog, I finally received my Aural Thrills Gold alloy active-shield IC's a couple days ago.  I listened for a couple of hours and immediately ordered another set, which is the first time I've done something like that with any wire!

Active shielding is the WAY to go, no doubt.

Sorry, Marbles

Jon L,

WOW! they must be pretty impressive then!

I just spoke to Ric Cummins of Argent Audio and I am getting a pair of Argent Pursang ICs to review...Ric's Jaden Signature is the BEST IC I've come across so far only surpassed by the AudioQuest Cheetahs used w/ Walker Audio SST silver contact enhancer in John Casler's system. Cheetahs sounded amazing once I applied some Walker SST stuff to them. Without the Walker Audio SST treatment, I preferred the Jaden Signature.

I just may have to compare the Pursang to the Aural Thrills cable...:)

Also forgot to mention, I just spoke to Scot Markwell of Classic Records and www.themusic.com (Classic Records is the US distributor of Eichmann products) and he has agreed to send me the Eichmann Digital IC and the eXpress6 speaker cable to audition and review so I will finally be able to hear my system equipped w/ Eichmann from wall outlet to speaker. Be sure to stay tuned for these reviews in the near future as well...

We might have to do a 3-way shoot out with the AQ Cheetahs (active), the Aural Thrills (active), and the Argent Pursangs.

Could be the battle of the Titans.  No doubt all three are very adequate cables in the right system.

Jon L, enjoy the AT's.

Life is too short for me to worry about that slimy piece of shit that sells them.

That is a cool shootout John!....do give us the details when you do it.  I haven't been tempted to switch wire for a while, but those new AQ's are tempting.

After seeing Rob's post about his experience with AT, I would not do business with them.  Based on my interactions with Rob, I have no reason not to believe that things happened the way he stated.

Horsehead briefly had the Cheetahs and Volcano speaker cable.  He told me he was very unimpressed and pretty much gave them right back.  Normally I don't go by a single opinion, but since I have heard Frank's system and he has heard mine multiple times, I can say I safely trust his opinion and judgement.

Anyway, it still is a cool idea.  If you take AT out, what about adding the Sonoran products (available at www.auidopoints.com)?  I just received their top of line speaker cable and will be putting it into my system to see how it compares to the Argent Audio Pursang (which is the best cable I have heard or owned).

When we A/B'd the Jaden Signature and Cheetahs in John's system, it was very obvious that these were 2 VERY different sounding cables...both are excellent cables but VERY different. the Walker SST stuff made the Cheetah sound more like a Jaden Sig on steroids...Suddenly the Cheetahs shared many of the same characteristics as the Jaden Sigs, but it just delivered more of everything!

I wonder if anyone else who has tried the Walker SST stuff has gotten similar results that we experienced?

I tried it in my own system and was floored as well with the improvements it made!
