It's the Holiday season and I am in the mood to listen to Oratorios and Passions. Everyone knows Messiah and perhaps St. Mathew's Passion, but have you heard
Blood on the Field, Pulitzer wining oratorio by Wynton Marsalis? It's not holiday music but I noticed it in my oratorio section and played it last night. It is probably not for everyone but it's special music. Someone should really produce it as an opera or a passion play. I think it actually could be better than Porgy.
