After moving my Magnepan LRS’s to my theater room, I was blown away by how good they sounded. I am going to just leave them in my theater room. But I do want to give them the best they deserve. Wondering what the best AVR is with good amounts of power and current that I can pair with the Maggie’s? Say under $2000.

What are you currently using for Amps with the Maggie’s?

Most good AVR’s have pre-outs for external Amps if you want to use them. Just a thought.

This is what I've always done.

In a similar boat, from what I've read it's

1) Get a power amp, no replacing that, especially to drive Maggies. Odyssey would be fantastic. I got a pair of used monos for ~1200.
2) Get an AVR with 'musical' preamp and preamp outputs. Anthem MRX x20 series fits the bill, and apparently so does Yamaha Aventage 1070/80+ for the remaining money.

I'm in agreement with those above for I see little, if any, logic in using an AVR for a top flight two channel rig.
