Title: Well Tempered Labs Reference
Post by: daveyonthecoast on 27 Sep 2014, 10:43 am
Hello Friends,
I will recieve, in the next few week's, a Well Tempered Reference with the clear platter never used from old stock, as I believe, form reports, that the black platter has to much damping!!. At the momerent, I own a Well Tempered Classic, with the clear platter, the person I bought it from, a while back, made his own "Matt", to sit on top, of the standered, platter, I did A-B comparisons, and pefer the upgrade!!.
However, it is made of a metal type materal, that I don't like placing, My mint LP'S on!!, has any one used a "Herbie Grungemat"?, an can I use my record clamp, with the above, I know this is a big post, but I guess that is what forums are all about, talking about our passion, "The Well Tempered Labs Turntable" in all its forms
Regards
David

Hi David,
Glad you have the correct platter.
No mat should be on it. Herbies will deaden the sound.
Stay away from it. Worry about buying new records, and leave the platter alone. :)
Have fun.
Oh, the 17d, dialed in correctly, is a gem.
Have fun!
Charlie
